| Shark Liver Oil is a dietary supplement that has been used for centuries by seafaring individuals. Scandinavian fishermen have used it since the 16th century and it is mentioned in the early writings of the Spanish, Swedish, Norwegian, Chinese and Japanese peoples. Shark Liver Oil is a rich source of a variety of nutrients, including vitamins A, D and E, as well as the Omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA. The sharks used in this product are harvested for food purposes, with the liver oil being a by-product.
From the FDA's website: "Consumption of omega-3 fatty acids may reduce the risk of coronary heart disease. FDA evaluated the data and determined that, although there is scientific evidence supporting the claim, the evidence is not conclusive (see nutrition information for fat content)".
